Composite sheet comprising photo-enlargements of field sheets 12a, 12b, 13a, 13b, 16a, and 16b (originals filed at WOOS/20/2/1) and a photo-reproduction of T.S.,G.S. 2312, Pretoria and Surrounding Country (lithograph filed at WOOS/20/5/2).Covers the Commando Nek mountain pass in southern Transvaal and the surrounding area to a radius of approximately 18 miles. Portrays hydrology, relief by spot heights and form lines or approximate contours, railways, telegraph lines, roads and tracks, settlements and isolated buildings, fences, farm boundaries and place names. Includes editorial comments by Captain E.W. Cox R.E. A note on the verso reads 'Commando Nek. Showing the joinings of 16a, 12a & 12b with Pretoria Radius Map'.The original field sheets are signed by Captain C. St B Sladen R.E. and Lieutenant K.W. Lee R.F.A.; T.S.,G.S. 2312 was originally surveyed by Major R.L. McClintock R.E. and prepared and printed by the Ordnance Survey.The sheet is not explicitly listed in the War Office ledger; neither does it possess an Original Surveys stamp, although this could have been lost on one of the several fragments that have become disassociated from the map.
